Undergrad Thesis Book: Fantasy in Fashion Advertising
My thesis book talks about aspects of fashion in advertising. The influence advertisements have on individuals and also the power to comment on political and social problems/views.

I have always been interested in fashion and being enamored seeing Vogue and ELLE magazines in the checkout line in the grocery. As a kid, I wanted to know how the clothes were made and what lead up to the cover shot of the magazines. I grew up poor, of immigrant parents who had no disposable income so we couldn’t afford magazines (let alone anything else). I dream of doing something in the industry. I'm intrigued by how clothes make people feel. Can one jacket make you feel invincible? Can fashion have that much of an impact on one's personality?

This section shows the work inspired by my thesis research. From the sports collaberation with luxuary brands, to a haute coutoure fashion brand. The projects serve as support to my thesis and how advertising and name regonition goes a long way for consumers.
ALQUEZADA
Branding & Advertisement (Self Initiative)
The brand Alquezada is a luxury Haute Couture fashion house.
This collection centers around a poem of Emily Dickinson that describes women’s fragile state in society and the only power they have control over is death its self. I hand make each dress out of paper and wire and sized to each model. I took what I knew about paperweights in graphic design and choose different paper textures and colors that will reflect differently against one another to create the illusion of fabric.
I wanted the feel of the 2020 capsule collection to have a vintage film quality that gives the poetic feel Emily Dickinson achieved in her poems. I used my last name to create the name for the brand and chose a typeface that is serious but yet fun. I played with the tail of the Q to give it that fun but serious tone because of the current change in luxury fashion moving towards fun and conceptual.

These luxury advertisements were created to comment on our society’s obsession with the “limited edition” products and the future of cross brand collaboration.
NewLeaf
(Self Initiated)
The luxury sustainable fashion brand new leaf will tackle the scarcity of the limited-edition products while encouraging consumers to shop for environmentally sustainable brands and products. New Leaf will be a pop up shop and will be open a limited amount of time during a season to reduce the use of natural gases and to limit our carbon foot print. NewLeaf is an overall brand identity system that will show how the logo will look on some store window, packaging, and clothes.
Ether

Ether is a gallery project based on haute couture fashion. The gallery project shows how fashion can seem almost alien or god like based on designers interpretation of the world or subject.
